Financing & Credit

Financing & Credit

Do you work with first-time buyers with no credit history?

Yes. First-time buyers are welcome, and our lender network includes options built for buyers just starting out.

Will you match a lower rate from my bank?

Yes — bring us your bank's rate and we'll work to match or beat it.

Can I get pre-approved before I come in?

Yes — pre-qualify online in minutes, before you ever visit.

Does checking my options hurt my credit score?

No — online pre-qualification uses a soft check that doesn't affect your score. A hard inquiry only happens if you complete a full credit application.

Can I finance service or repairs?

Yes, service financing is available for eligible customers at World Hyundai Matteson, so a needed repair may not have to wait until the next paycheck. Ask your service advisor what's available for your situation.

Do you offer extended warranties or GAP coverage?

Yes — our finance team can walk you through extended protection and GAP options and what each actually covers, with no pressure.

How much should I put down?

Whatever fits your budget, and we will structure the deal around it. Buyers put down everything from nothing to twenty percent here, and both ends of that range work. More money down lowers your payment and your total interest, less money down keeps cash in your pocket, and GAP coverage protects the deal either way. Tell us the payment you want to be at and we will show you the down payment options that land there.

Can I get financed after a bankruptcy?

Yes. We finance buyers after bankruptcy every month at World Hyundai Matteson, including buyers whose discharge was recent. Several of our lenders specialize in exactly this situation and look at where you are today: your income, your job, and what you can put down. Bring proof of income and let us go to work. Call Sales at 866-646-6276 and we will get you an answer.

Can I get financed after a repossession?

Yes. A repossession on your history does not take you out of the market, and our finance team places buyers in this position regularly. We have lenders who look past the event to your current income and stability, and we know which ones to send your application to first. That experience is the difference between a rejection letter and a set of keys.

Do cosigners help — and can I buy without one?

Yes, a cosigner can strengthen an approval or improve the rate, and most of our buyers finance on their own without one. Start by letting us submit your application by itself, because we place a great many buyers who assumed they would need help and did not. If a cosigner improves the deal, we will tell you plainly and handle the paperwork for both of you.

Do you work with ITIN buyers?

Yes. We finance buyers using an ITIN in place of a Social Security number, and we do it often enough to know which lenders handle it best and what each of them wants to see. Generally that is proof of income, proof of residence, and a valid driver's license or state ID. Bring what you have to World Hyundai Matteson and we will build the file with you.

I'm self-employed — how does income verification work?

Self-employed buyers document income with tax returns, business bank statements, or both, and our finance team knows how to present that to a lender. Write-offs that lower your taxable income are normal for a business owner, and we work with lenders who read bank statement deposits alongside returns to see what you actually earn. Bring one to two years of returns and three to six months of statements, and we will take it from there.

What credit score do I need to buy a car here?

There is no minimum credit score to buy a car at World Hyundai Matteson. We work with a wide network of lenders and submit your application to find the best approval we can, but the lender makes the final decision, so we can't promise an outcome in advance. The best step is to apply so we can tell you where you actually stand.

Is 0% financing real? How do special APR offers actually work?

Yes, 0% financing is real, and it comes from Hyundai Motor Finance, which subsidizes the rate on selected models, terms, and credit tiers. Hyundai also puts cash rebates on many of the same vehicles. Our job is to run your deal both ways, the promotional rate and the rebate, and hand you whichever one costs you less over the life of the loan. You will see both numbers side by side before you choose.

Should I finance through the dealership or my own bank?

Financing through World Hyundai Matteson sends your application to a panel of lenders at once, banks, credit unions, and Hyundai Motor Finance, the only source of the manufacturer's subsidized promotional rates, so let us compete for it. One submission, multiple offers, and you take the best one. If you already have an approval from your own bank, bring it in and hold us to it.

Do you offer military, first-responder, or college-grad programs?

Yes. Hyundai funds bonus programs for active, reserve, retired, and veteran U.S. military members and their spouses, for first responders including police, fire, EMT, paramedics, and 911 dispatchers, and for recent and upcoming college graduates. We apply these every week and we know how to stack them with the rest of your deal correctly. Call Sales at 866-646-6276, tell us your status, and we will confirm the exact bonus available the day you buy.

Can you get me financed with bad credit?

Yes, we finance buyers with challenged credit regularly, and we submit to lenders other dealers may not. That doesn't guarantee an approval, the lender decides, but it's worth letting us try. Apply and we'll give you an honest answer.

Buying

Buying

Is World Hyundai Matteson a good dealership?

We'll let our customers answer that: 35 of our 35 published stories — 100% — say they'd send a friend, every story published exactly as written. Hyundai also named us a 2025 Dealer of the Year. Read the stories and decide for yourself.

Do I need an appointment to test drive?

No — walk-ins are welcome. Scheduling ahead just means the exact vehicle is pulled up and ready when you arrive.

How long does buying a car actually take?

About an hour or more, depending on your needs. We won't rush you, but we won't keep you.

Can I do most of the deal online or by phone?

Yes. You can get exact pricing, value your trade, and arrange financing online — and we'll deliver your vehicle to your home or workplace if you'd like.

Do you sell used cars from other brands?

Yes — our used inventory includes all makes, alongside Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned.

Is the price on the website the real price?

Yes — the price you build online is real pricing. Tax, title, and the documentary service fee are the only additions.

Why buy from World Hyundai instead of another Hyundai dealer?

Three reasons our customers give: the exclusive 100K Mile Promise on every new vehicle, a woman-run dealership that solves problems instead of running gimmicks, and Hyundai's own 2025 Dealer of the Year award. But don't take our word for it — read the stories.

Do you sell EVs and hybrids?

Yes — the full electrified lineup: IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, IONIQ 9, and hybrid or plug-in versions of Tucson, Santa Fe, Elantra, and Sonata, plus an EV education hub to help you decide.

What does Certified Pre-Owned include?

Hyundai CPO means a 150-point inspection, an extended powertrain limited warranty, and a CARFAX vehicle history report. It is one of the most protected ways to buy a used Hyundai, because it adds a manufacturer-backed inspection and warranty coverage.

What warranty comes with a new Hyundai?

America's Best Warranty: 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage from Hyundai. World Hyundai Matteson also includes our own 100K Mile Promise, an additional dealership benefit beyond the manufacturer's coverage.

Will you deliver my car to me?

Yes — remote delivery to your home, workplace, or wherever suits you.

What are retired loaners and demos?

Nearly-new Hyundais from our own loaner and demo fleet — low miles, dealer-maintained from day one, priced below new.

What documents should I bring to buy a car?

Your driver's license and proof of insurance; if you're financing, bring proof of income and residence to speed things up.

Are your prices negotiable?

Yes — talk to us. We'd rather work with you on the number than watch you drive somewhere else.

What is your documentation fee?

$377.63 for 2026. Illinois caps this fee by statute and adjusts the cap every January, so it is the same story at every dealer in the state.

Can I hold a vehicle with a deposit?

In most cases, yes — ask your salesperson about holding a specific vehicle with a deposit.

Do you ship vehicles out of state?

Yes — we regularly ship vehicles out of state and handle the paperwork that comes with it.

Do you sell rebuilt-title vehicles?

No — we don't sell rebuilt-title vehicles, period.

Is there an exchange or return period?

Not a formal one — but your satisfaction matters here, and if buyer's remorse shows up, we'll work with you to make it right.

Can I test drive at my home?

Yes — we'll bring the vehicle to you. Ask about a home test drive.

Will you show me an itemized out-the-door price before I commit?

Yes. Before you sign anything at World Hyundai Matteson, you get a written breakdown showing the vehicle price, any options or accessories, the documentary fee, sales tax, title, and registration, added to a single out-the-door number. Ask for it at any point in the conversation, not just at the end, and we will print it.

What fees get added to a car's price in Illinois?

Illinois adds four things to a vehicle's selling price: sales tax, title, registration (plates), and a documentary service fee. Sales tax is set by the state and your local jurisdiction, title and registration are fixed state charges, and the documentary fee is capped by Illinois law at $377.63 for 2026, adjusted every January by the Consumer Price Index. Illinois is one of the minority of states that caps the doc fee by statute, so no dealer in the state can legally charge above that figure.

Do you install dealer add-ons I'm required to pay for?

No. Any accessory or protection product we offer at World Hyundai Matteson is optional, priced separately, and declinable without changing the price of the vehicle. If something is already installed on a specific unit, we tell you what it is and what it costs before you decide.

How do temporary plates work, and when do my permanent plates arrive?

You leave with a temporary registration permit that is legal for 90 days in Illinois, and your permanent plates and title arrive by mail from the Secretary of State, usually within four to six weeks. We submit the paperwork for you as part of the sale. If your plates have not shown up as the temporary permit gets close to expiring, call us and we will track the application.

Can you find me a color or trim you don't have in stock?

Often yes, through a dealer trade with another Hyundai store, or by ordering the vehicle from Hyundai. A trade usually takes a few hours to a few days and depends on another dealer having the exact unit and being willing to swap. A factory order takes longer and cannot be quoted with a firm date. Either way, we will tell you which one applies before you commit to anything.

Do you accept cash, cashier's checks, or wire transfers?

Yes to cashier's checks and wire transfers, and yes to cash. Personal checks are handled case by case.

Can someone else pick up my vehicle for me?

Only if the paperwork is complete and the person is authorized in writing. The buyer or lessee has to sign the contracts personally. Call us before you send someone and we will tell you exactly what they need to bring.

What's the difference between MSRP and the selling price?

MSRP is the price the manufacturer suggests, printed on the window sticker, and the selling price is what you and the dealership actually agree to. They are frequently not the same number in either direction: high-demand models can transact at MSRP, and models with factory incentives on them transact below it. The window sticker is a federal document that also lists destination charge and factory-installed options, which is why it is the honest starting point for any conversation about price.

Do you deliver cars to my house?

Yes, we will deliver your vehicle to your home or workplace if you would like. You can complete most of the deal online or by phone, including getting exact pricing, valuing your trade, and arranging financing. We can also bring a vehicle to you if you would like to do a home test drive.

Leasing

Leasing

Is leasing or buying better for me?

Leasing is usually better if you drive predictable miles, want a lower payment, and like a new vehicle every three years. Buying is usually better if you drive a lot, keep vehicles a long time, or want to own something free and clear at the end. Leasing costs less per month and more over ten years; buying costs more per month and less over ten years. Neither one is a trick, and we do not earn meaningfully more on one than the other, so the answer really is about your mileage and how long you keep cars.

What's actually due at lease signing?

A typical Hyundai lease requires the first month's payment, a bank acquisition fee, sales tax as calculated under Illinois lease rules, title and registration, the documentary fee, and any capitalized cost reduction you choose to put down. Advertised lease payments almost always assume a specific amount due at signing, so the honest comparison between two lease offers is payment and due-at-signing together, never payment alone. We will show you a zero-down version and a cash-down version of the same lease so you can see what the money actually buys.

What happens when my lease ends with you?

You have three options at lease end: return the vehicle, buy it, or lease or purchase something new. We schedule a pre-inspection before your maturity date so there are no surprises about wear items, and we handle the return paperwork here whether or not you get your next vehicle from us. Nothing about ending a lease requires you to buy again.

Can I buy out my lease, and will you handle the paperwork?

Yes. Your lease contract lists a purchase option price, and we will process the buyout here, including the payoff to Hyundai Motor Finance, the title work, and financing if you need it. Illinois sales tax applies to a lease buyout, and we will show you that figure before you decide.

What happens if I go over my lease miles?

You pay a per-mile charge at lease end, typically between 15 and 25 cents per mile depending on the contract. On a 12,000-mile-per-year lease, going 5,000 miles over across three years at 20 cents costs $1,000 at turn-in. If you know upfront that you drive more, buying the extra miles at the start is significantly cheaper than paying for them at the end, and you cannot buy them retroactively. Check your own contract, since the rate is printed in it.

Can I get out of a lease early?

Yes, though it usually costs money, and the amount depends on where you are in the term. Options include paying off the lease, transferring it to another qualified person where the lender allows it, or trading it in if the vehicle's market value is close to the payoff. Early in a lease the payoff typically exceeds the vehicle's value, and late in a lease that gap often closes or disappears. Send us your account number and we will pull the actual payoff instead of guessing at it.

Do you take lease returns from other brands?

We can take a grounded lease from another brand as a trade if you are purchasing or leasing from us, and we will handle the payoff and the paperwork. What we generally cannot do is accept another manufacturer's lease return as a pure drop-off, because those go back to the brand's own dealer network. If you are unsure who has to take yours, call us and we will look it up.

Trade-ins

Trade-ins

Will you buy my car even if I don't buy one from you?

Yes — we buy cars outright. Start with our online trade value tool or just bring it in.

How do you decide what my trade is worth?

Current market data plus an in-person inspection — and getting you maximum dollars for your trade is something we're known for. The appraisal process only takes minutes.

What if I still owe money on my trade?

That's common and completely fine — we handle the payoff as part of your deal.

Can I trade in a leased vehicle?

Yes — lease trade-ins are common, and we'll walk you through the payoff or turn-in details.

Will you appraise a car with mechanical problems?

Yes — bring it in as it sits. We appraise vehicles in every condition.

Can I get my trade value without coming in?

Yes — start with the online trade tool for a real number, then we confirm it with a quick in-person look.

Can I trade in a car that doesn't run?

Yes, and it still has value. A non-running vehicle is appraised on what it is worth at wholesale or auction rather than on retail condition. Tell us upfront that it does not run so we can arrange transport rather than having you attempt to drive it here. Whatever is wrong may also turn out to be minor, so do not assume the worst before we look at it.

Can I trade two vehicles toward one purchase?

Yes. We appraise each vehicle separately, pay off any loans on either one, and apply the combined equity to your purchase. Both vehicles need clear titles or verifiable payoffs, and both trade values count toward the Illinois trade-in tax credit.

Does trading in reduce the sales tax I pay in Illinois?

Yes, and the full value of your trade counts. Illinois taxes the difference between the selling price and your trade-in allowance, so a $40,000 purchase with a $15,000 trade is taxed on $25,000. Illinois capped that credit at $10,000 in 2020, and Public Act 102-0353 repealed the cap, restoring the full credit on dealer transactions for first-division vehicles, which is passenger cars and similar. The credit applies to retail purchases and is applied automatically at the time of sale. Lease transactions are taxed under different rules.

How long does a trade appraisal take?

Usually 5 to 10 minutes, including a road test and a walk-around. Bring the title or the lender information, both keys, and your driver's license, which speeds it up considerably. You get a written offer that stands on its own, whether or not you buy a vehicle from us that day.

If we do not have the exact configuration you want, we can often locate it through a dealer trade.

What are this month's specials?

Offers change monthly and sometimes mid-month when Hyundai adjusts a program, so the current list is the only honest one. See current offers or call Sales at 866-646-6276.

Used & Certified

Used & Certified

Do your used cars come with any warranty?

Coverage depends on the vehicle: Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned units carry factory-backed coverage, and every vehicle's warranty status is disclosed in writing on the buyer's guide posted in the window, which is federal law. We will hand you a copy before you buy, and we will say out loud which category the specific car you are looking at falls into.

Can I see the vehicle history report before I buy?

Yes, free, before you commit to anything. Ask for the report on any used vehicle on our lot and we will print it or email it. If a vehicle's report shows an accident, we will show you the report anyway and talk about what the damage was, because you are going to see it when you run your own report, and it is better coming from us.

Are your used cars inspected before sale? What kind of inspection?

Yes. Every used vehicle goes through a multi-point mechanical and safety inspection before it is offered for sale, covering brakes, tires, fluids, steering and suspension, lights, and diagnostic codes, and anything failing is repaired or the vehicle is wholesaled rather than retailed. Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned vehicles go through Hyundai's own more extensive certification inspection on top of that. We will show you the inspection sheet for the specific vehicle you are considering.

How old or high-mileage a vehicle will you sell?

Older trade-ins that are mechanically sound occasionally make it to the lot, and when they do they are priced and disclosed accordingly. If you are shopping a specific budget, tell us the number and we will tell you honestly what it buys. We will not sell a car that we have identified as having too many problems to justify any price.

Warranty & Protection

Warranty & Protection

What does Hyundai's 10-year/100,000-mile warranty actually cover — and not cover?

The 10-year/100,000-mile figure is the powertrain warranty for the original owner only, covering the engine, transmission, and drive components. The rest of the coverage is different: the new vehicle limited warranty is 5 years/60,000 miles, anti-perforation is 7 years/unlimited miles, roadside assistance is 5 years/unlimited miles, and hybrid and electric battery components carry their own 10-year/100,000-mile coverage. If you buy the car used from a second owner, the powertrain term drops to 5 years/60,000 miles. None of it covers wear items, brake pads, wipers, tires, or damage from missed maintenance or abuse. The distinction between original-owner and subsequent-owner coverage is the one that surprises people most, and it is worth checking before you buy any used Hyundai anywhere.

What's the difference between the factory warranty and the 100K Mile Promise?

The factory warranty is Hyundai's, and the 100K Mile Promise is ours. Hyundai's coverage is defined by the manufacturer and honored at any Hyundai dealer in the country. The 100K Mile Promise is a program World Hyundai Matteson offers on top of that: you choose tire coverage or brake coverage at purchase, and you get three full replacement sets through your first 100,000 miles, installed by our certified technicians, with maintenance done here to keep it active. It exists because we want your car maintained where we can stand behind it.

What does the 100K Mile Promise cost? What's the catch?

There is no separate charge — the Promise is included with every eligible new vehicle, and you choose tire or brake coverage at purchase. The honest framing is that there are conditions, and the conditions are the point: the program requires you to keep the vehicle's maintenance current with us on schedule. That is not a catch hidden in fine print, it is the entire mechanism, because a vehicle that is maintained on time is the only kind we can afford to make a promise about.

What can void a car warranty?

Very little voids a warranty outright, and the more common outcome is a specific claim being denied rather than the whole warranty disappearing. Denials typically come from missed or undocumented maintenance, aftermarket modifications that caused the failure, a salvage or branded title, odometer tampering, or abuse and racing. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer that denies a claim over an aftermarket part has to show that the part caused the failure, which is why keeping receipts for both maintenance and modifications protects you.

Service

Service

Do I need an appointment for an oil change?

No — express service takes walk-ins. Scheduling online takes about two minutes and is still the fastest way to be in and out.

Do you service other brands or just Hyundai?

Our factory-trained technicians service Hyundai and most other makes — call Service and we'll confirm yours.

Do you have loaner cars or a shuttle?

Yes — we keep a fleet of more than 40 loaners. Availability varies by day and service type, so ask your advisor when you book and we will reserve one for you. We also offer a shuttle for local trips while your vehicle is being serviced — ask your advisor to arrange it when you check in.

Can I wait while my car is serviced?

Yes — we have a comfortable waiting lounge.

Do you text updates while my car is in the shop?

Yes — your advisor keeps you posted by text so you're never left wondering.

Are your technicians Hyundai-certified?

Yes — factory-trained, certified technicians using genuine Hyundai and OEM-approved parts.

How do I schedule service?

Online in about two minutes, any time — pick your service, pick your slot, done.

Do you handle Hyundai recalls?

Manufacturer recall repairs are normally performed at no charge when your vehicle is covered by the recall campaign. If you're not sure whether you have an open recall, call Service with your VIN and we'll check it for you.

Are you open on Sunday?

No — Sundays are for our team's families. Sales runs Monday–Friday 9–9 and Saturday 9–7; Service and Parts run Monday–Friday 7:30–6 and Saturday 7:30–4:30.

How often does my Hyundai actually need an oil change?

Most current Hyundai gasoline engines call for an oil and filter change every 7,500 miles or 12 months under normal driving, and every 3,750 miles under severe conditions. Severe conditions are more common than people assume: short trips under five miles in cold weather, extended idling, stop-and-go traffic, and towing all qualify, which describes a great many Chicago-area commutes. Turbocharged engines and certain model years differ, so the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual is the authority for your specific vehicle.

What does Hyundai complimentary maintenance cover?

Hyundai Complimentary Maintenance covers oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections for three years or 36,000 miles on new 2020 through 2025 model-year Hyundais, for the original owner. It does not cover wear items such as brake pads, wiper blades, engine and cabin air filters, or any additional service. Hyundai ended the program effective March 27, 2025, for model year 2026 and newer vehicles, so a 2026 Hyundai does not include it while a 2025 still does. Owners of covered vehicles keep their benefit unchanged.

Do I have to service at a dealer to keep my factory warranty?

No. Federal law, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, means Hyundai cannot void your warranty simply because you had routine maintenance done elsewhere. What you do need is proof that the required maintenance was performed on schedule with the correct parts and fluids, so keep every receipt. The 100K Mile Promise is a separate dealership program with its own service requirements, which are what they are because we are the ones standing behind it.

Do you offer express service for quick jobs like oil changes?

Yes. Oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections run through express service, typically in about an hour. No appointment is necessary.

Do you handle bodywork or collision repair?

We work with body shops in the area and can point you to one, and we handle any mechanical or diagnostic work involved in a repair. Call Service at 866-710-9279 and we will tell you honestly whether the job belongs here or somewhere else.

Tires, brakes, alignments — can I get everything done in one place?

Yes. Our service department at World Hyundai Matteson handles tires, brakes, alignments, batteries, and diagnostics alongside factory-scheduled maintenance and warranty work, and we service vehicles of other brands as well. Being a dealer means the technicians are factory-trained on Hyundai and the parts department stocks genuine parts, which matters most on anything involving the vehicle's electronics or driver-assistance calibration.

Do you offer free WiFi

Yes we do. And a comfortable area to work privately.

EV & Hybrid

EV & Hybrid

Can I charge an EV at home on a regular outlet?

Yes, and it is slow. A standard 120-volt household outlet, called Level 1 charging, adds roughly 3 to 5 miles of range per hour, which is around 40 miles overnight. That covers a short commute and will frustrate anyone driving more than that. A 240-volt Level 2 setup, the same kind of circuit an electric dryer uses, adds roughly 25 to 35 miles per hour and fully charges most vehicles overnight. Plug-in hybrids, with much smaller batteries, are the one case where Level 1 is genuinely adequate.

What does home charger installation involve?

An electrician installs a 240-volt circuit from your panel to where you park, then mounts either a hardwired charger or a NEMA 14-50 outlet. Cost is driven almost entirely by the distance from the panel and whether your panel has capacity, which is why quotes for the same charger range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand. An attached garage with a modern panel is the cheap case, and a detached garage or a full panel upgrade is the expensive one. Get the electrician's quote before you finalize an EV purchase, not after, and check ComEd for current rebate programs.

How does Chicago winter affect EV range?

Expect to lose roughly 20 to 30 percent of your range in deep cold, and more if you use a lot of cabin heat on short trips. Most of that loss is heating the cabin rather than the battery itself degrading, which is why preconditioning the car while it is still plugged in recovers a meaningful share of it. Practically, a 300-mile EV becomes a 210 to 240-mile EV in a Chicago January. That is a real limitation and worth planning around rather than talking around, and for most drivers with home charging it never becomes a daily problem, because the car starts every morning full.

What's the difference between a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid?

A hybrid charges its own small battery through the engine and braking, and you never plug it in. A plug-in hybrid has a much larger battery you charge from an outlet, giving it 30 or so miles of electric-only driving before the gas engine takes over. If your daily driving is short and you can charge at home, a plug-in hybrid can run mostly on electricity while still taking a long road trip on gasoline. If you cannot charge at home, a plug-in hybrid is mostly a heavier hybrid and a standard hybrid is the better buy.

What maintenance does an EV actually need?

An EV needs tire rotations, brake fluid, cabin air filters, coolant service for the battery thermal system, and wiper blades, with no oil changes, spark plugs, or exhaust work. Brakes last unusually long because regenerative braking does most of the slowing, though that same lack of use means calipers need periodic inspection so they do not seize. Tires wear faster than on a comparable gas car, because EVs are heavier and produce instant torque. The overall maintenance cost is lower, and it is not zero.

Where exactly are you located?

5337 Miller Circle Drive in the Matteson Auto Mall — Matteson, IL 60443, just off US-30 near I-57.

What is the 100K Mile Promise?

An exclusive warranty included free with every new vehicle: choose tire coverage or brake coverage at purchase, and get three full replacement sets through your first 100,000 miles (at 33K, 66K, and 99K), installed by certified technicians. Maintenance stays here to keep it active, and it transfers to the next owner.

Do you have Spanish-speaking staff?

Sí — Spanish-speaking team members are on the floor. Just ask.

How long has World Hyundai been in Matteson?

Since 2006 — two decades in the Matteson Auto Mall, and Hyundai's 2025 Dealer of the Year.

Who runs World Hyundai?

World Hyundai is proud to be woman-run and woman-operated. We've got the W.O.W. Factor, the Women of World.

Why should I trust the reviews on this site?

Because we can't touch them: stories publish exactly as written, nothing is scored with stars, nothing is deleted for being critical, and the math behind every number is shown. Read exactly how it works.

How do I share my own story?

If you've bought or serviced here, tap Share Your Story — it takes about two minutes on your phone, and it publishes exactly as you wrote it.

Can I read reviews about a specific salesperson?

Yes — every team member has their own page with every story that names them.

Can I read reviews from my city?

Yes — stories are organized by the cities customers come from.

How current are these reviews?

The newest stories always lead — the homepage shows the latest the moment they publish.

Where does your used inventory come from?

Most of it comes from customer trade-ins and off-lease Hyundais returned to us, and the rest comes from wholesale auctions. Anything that does not pass our inspection goes to auction rather than onto the lot.

Is World Hyundai involved in the local community?

Yes. We've been sponsoring local sports teams and village initiatives for many years. We are in Matteson, most of our employees live in the south suburbs, and the customers are neighbors.

Is the showroom kid-friendly? Can I bring my dog?

Yes to both. Kids are welcome in the customer lounge, and well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome in the showroom. Buying a car takes a while and we would rather you be comfortable than rushed. We love kids and dogs (cats too)!

Do you offer free coffee

Yes we do. It is located in the waiting room and starts brewing at 7 AM!

Why don't you use star ratings?

Because a star rating compresses a real experience into a number that tells you nothing useful. A four-star review and a two-star review can describe the same visit, and an average of hundreds of them tells you less than one specific story about a problem and how it was handled. We publish the stories themselves, and the only number we keep is the answer to one question: would you send a friend here? That one is worth counting, because it is the question people actually ask each other.

Are these reviews from real people?

Yes. Every story on this site was submitted by an actual customer of World Hyundai Matteson, and we verify that the person was a customer before it publishes. We do not write reviews, we do not buy them, and we do not use AI to generate or rewrite a single word of what a customer said. Google verifies emails. We verify customers.

Can a bad review get deleted?

Not by us. We are sentiment-blind: we have never declined a story for being negative, and negativity is expressly not a valid reason to hold or reject one. What we do screen for is whether we can believe the submission is real, and every hold or rejection is logged with a stated reason. The one person who can remove a story is its author, who can withdraw it at any time, and when that happens the page says so rather than quietly disappearing.
